Get Found on Google and AI

Are you getting fewer calls and messages than you’re used to?

If it’s hard for Google and AI to figure out who you are and what you do, it’s harder for customers to find you.

What some owners don’t know

If something’s off, most customers won’t try twice to reach you.

Your business information online is your resume. Google and AI check it before customers ever see it. When the details don’t match, trust drops, and so do your calls.

How Google and AI decide

What gets a business to the top of the list?

When somebody searches Google or asks AI, both look at three things:

  1. 01

    Where you are

How close your business is to the person searching, or to the town they ask about.

  2. 02

    What you do

Whether Google and AI can tell which services your business provides. That comes from your Google Business Profile, your website (if you have one), and other directories.

  3. 03

How much they trust your business

Your reviews, your rating, what other sites say about your business, and whether your information matches everywhere.

Questions

Straight answers about Google and AI.

What’s the difference between SEO (search engine optimization) and paying for Google Ads?
Google Ads are paid spots above the top three. You pay for every click, and when you stop paying, the ad is gone. SEO moves your business up in rank organically. It depends on Google updating their system, but done right, your business can reach the top three in the results.
Is there a difference between searching Google and asking AI to find a business?
Google shows the top three businesses, along with paid ads. You can choose from the top three or search farther down the list. AI names only a few businesses and says why. If it can’t find much about your business, it’s less likely to show it as an answer.
I get most of my work from word of mouth. Does SEO even matter for me?
Word of mouth is great, but it depends on somebody referring you. Everybody else searches. They look up local businesses online, and others ask AI for one. Being found there brings in the customers word of mouth can’t reach.
Do reviews really matter that much?
They help. Customers read them before they call or contact a business. If you have a few good reviews, that creates more credibility for your business. AI looks at your rating, how many reviews you have, and how recent they are.
